What a waste,

To lose a love like ours.

Sweet hot coffee,

Singing in cars.

Red wine evenings,

Dancing in kitchens.

A fool for believing

Your smile so bewitching.

The coffee turned bitter,

The music went quiet.

I'm all but a quitter

But I can't fight your riot.

And it's such a waste,

But people can't star gaze

In a sky without stars.
